Cranial Facial Release (CFR) in Amsterdam: Advanced Airway & Neurological Support
At our Amsterdam office, I offer a specialized endonasal technique to improve breathing and neurological function. Cranial Facial Release (CFR) is an evidence-based approach that brings noticeable relief to those who are struggling with chronic sinus issues, breathing obstructions, and persistent headaches.
As the only provider currently offering CFR in Amsterdam, I am happy to offer this advanced therapy to our community. It is a powerful tool for those seeking a non-surgical way to improve their airway and overall cranial mechanics.
Cranial Facial Release: The Method
CFR involves a specialized "nasal adjustment." I use a small, special balloon that is momentarily inserted into the nasal passages.
The process is very fast—the actual inflation lasts only 2 to 3 seconds. While the sensation is unique and briefly intense, it is followed by an immediate sense of "opening" and increased airflow that many patients find deeply relieving. Some clients also experience soreness for a day or two.
From Restricted to Relief
CFR restores vital space for a clear airway.
Breathe Better: The Benefits
Proper nasal breathing is the foundation of a healthy nervous system. Research highlights that nasal breathing isn't just about comfort— it actually impacts our metabolic efficiency, sleep quality, and even our emotional state.
When your cranium is restricted, you are often forced to breathe through your mouth. This sends a 'false alarm' to your brain to stay alert. An open passageway allows for deep nasal breathing, which naturally signals your body to calm down and recover. This often results in improved sleep quality, better oxygenation, and enhanced mental clarity and stress resilience.
The Science Behind CFR
CFR works by applying a precise, localized pressure inside the nasal cavity. This pressure "unlocks" the cranial sutures and allows the sphenoid bone to return to its proper alignment.
The mechanical shift of CFR creates more space in the respiratory passages and reduces intracranial pressure.
The human skull is not a single solid bone; it is composed of 22 individual bones held together by joints called sutures. A common misconception is that these sutures fuse into a solid "helmet" in adulthood. However, research has shown that these sutures remain active, living joints containing connective tissue, blood vessels, and nerve fibers. This allows for a small but vital amount of "give” which makes a nasal adjustment possible.
The sphenoid bone sits at the very center of your skull and acts as the "keystone." It is the only bone in the body that touches every other bone of the cranium. When these cranial sutures become "locked" or restricted, it can impair the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and obstruct the respiratory passages.
CFR is Commonly Used for:
Chronic Sinusitis and congestion
Deviated septums
Tension headaches and migraines
Sleep Apnea and snoring
Post-concussion syndrome
TMJ (Jaw) dysfunction
Facial misalignments or previous head trauma
Chronic "Brain Fog"
Start Breathing Better
CFR works best when used in a cumulative series to achieve lasting structural change. At Glow Chiropractic, we therefore offer a series of three treatments to be completed within two weeks. We also offer the option to schedule a single CFR treatment.
I look forward to helping you breathe easier, sleep better, and feel your nervous system function at its best!
